Growing up in Brooklyn, NY as a child of Panamanian immigrant parents it was always hard finding a sense of belonging. It was even harder trying to explain to others why my family was black, Spoke Spanish but also spoke Patois. I never fit in with other hispanics because I wasn't light enough or had soft curly hair. My Spanish wasn't perfect and I could never explain why I choose Dancehall music over Salsa. Check out my latest vlog as I explain my struggles as a Black Panamanian growing up in the US.

Panama is huge melting pot of different cultures and people. When you think of Panama you think about African, Latin and Indigenous people, however there is a group of forgotten people who live in Panama. I would be lying if I said that Colon doesn’t have a major trash issue. It’s almost extremely difficult to ignore. As beautiful as Colon is, it’s difficult to appreciate all that Colon has to offer because of this eye sore.
