Gloria Karamanites is a Panamanian beauty pageant contestant winner of the Miss Panamá 1980 title. Also represented Panama in Miss Universe 1980, the 29th Miss Universe pageant was held at Sejong Cultural Center, Seoul, South Korea on July 8, 1980. Two years ago, I came across an interview by Dancehall Legend Buju Banton seemingly calling out Panamanian Reggae artist, El General as a " Culture Vulture". Buju went on to referring to Panama and Puerto Rican music and culture as one of the same. I want it to be known that Buju is actually my favorite artist so I took it personal when he made such comment. Did he not know the relationship between Panama and Jamaica? Did he not know of the Jamaican influence in Panama due to the building of the canal? either way I was offended. I took to my youtube channel to share my thoughts on Buju's Comments
I must admit that I left out some major points in this video because I was so emotional :)

Often times when I tell people, especially my fellow Panamanians who now reside is the U.S that I live in Panamá their reaction is always, WHY!?
I think a lot of Panamanians that were born and raised in Panama and left aren't privy to the "New" Panama. It saddens me that outsiders come to Panama, invest in Panama and continuously confess their love Panama, yet we, and by me saying We I mean fellow Panamanians can't see the beauty of our own country like everyone else does.
